CHRISTMAS COMES TO A FIELD

Thank God for another prosperous year!

When I was a little boy my favorite Christmas story was the one about “the shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night” (Luke 2:8-20).

Why?

Because it was just an ordinary night when the extraordinary happened. The shepherds were simply going about their common, everyday business when the presence of God broke through in all of its glory and splendor. Even in our field of Christmas trees, God intervenes in exceptional ways to bring the joy of Christmas.

Christmas is that “most wonderful time of the year” when God comes down and fills our everyday living with joy and the spirit of giving. Because of another prosperous year, we were able to give a generous portion of our profits to our mission field in Ukraine to let the people know that “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself”
(II Corinthians 5:19).
